Best Jerk in the West

Global Villa Hotel is renowned by locals and tourists for serving the ‘Best Jerk’ in the west. With the new Executive Chef on board, the cuisine will include more exciting mouthwatering dishes to tantalize the taste buds of our guests.

Full-service Conference Centre

The addition of the pool and spa services soon to follow is a major upgrade for Global Villa Hotel, which represents the completion of the final phase of development; a dream come true.

The hotel which showcased its full-service Conference Centre with state-of-the-art technology about a decade ago has increased its demand and visibility in Hanover. The Conference centre accommodates up to 130 persons and boasts six (6) Executive Suites on its rooftop. It is complemented by The Lucea Skills Training Centre, a collaborative initiative with HEART TRUST NTA which provides hospitality and allied training courses.

The increased in-demand skillsets are preparing Hanoverians for the numerous employment opportunities coming on stream. Preparing communities for future development is an important part of Gloria’s expertise and also provides a way to give back to the country of her birth, Jamaica.

Gloria Spence

Gloria Spence, a visionary tourism stalwart, credits her mother Pearlina Grant. Pearlina was a woman of substance who taught her never to give up on her dream. Plus, to be consistent with whatever she does and to do it with passion. An example of her inexhaustible passion is one of the many awards received in Europe and Jamaica.

The Black Heritage Award was presented to Gloria in 1996 by Luster Products “to honour individuals who have contributed significantly to raising the level of Afro hairdressing, skin care, as well as the importance of our national food in Europe, thus resulting in the National Curriculum being changed to include Afro-Caribbean hair and skin as well as the essentials of our national dishes.  All of which was done through selflessly giving her time, knowledge and foresight to help improve the capacity of others.” (Luster Products).

Hanoverians stand to benefit from the ambiance of a congenial, professional and competitively priced venue for staging their meetings, seminars, workshops, weddings and retreat services.

When asked why she decided to make the investment to build the pool at this time Gloria said “I have had numerous requests by guests who wanted a water feature in house.  In addition, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Exim Bank encouraged it. In fact, without their support and that of Dwayne Hunter and Tribaco Construction limited who have been a tower of strength during the entire process, my dream would not have been fulfilled.”

Ideal Location

This charming 14-room hotel is located on the A1 Main Road in Esher, Lucea. It faces the Caribbean Sea and catches the alluring sea breezes from its beautifully manicured front lawn and cozy veranda. The location, hospitality and customer service are reasons to choose this Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) rest stop. Best of all, a favourite in Hanover.

In fact, during the COVID-19 lockdown, the hotel never closed. It became a hub for Police, Nurses, and Firemen, first responders, to purchase food and beverage. Global Villa’s commitment to the community during a time of crisis was evidenced by staying open. Plus keeping its staff employed and also by providing top industry standard COVID-19 measures for sanitization.
