Trinidad & Tobago’s Prime Minister announces May 24 2010 as General Election

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – On April 8, 2010, the Honourable Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago advised His Excellency George Maxwell Richards T.C., C.M.T., Ph.D, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to dissolve the Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in accordance with Section 68 of the Constitution of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Prime Minister Patrick Manning advised President George Maxwell Richards to issue a writ of election appointing Monday, May 24, 2010 as the date of the General Election. Nomination Day will be Monday, May 3, 2010.
