Charlotte, N.C. – Trinidad and Tobago’s Ambassador to the United States Dr. Neil Parsan recently addressed the World Affairs Council of Charlotte (WACC) at a breakfast meeting on Trinidad and Tobago’s economy and business opportunities.

WACC provided an opportunity to over 100 business executives, city officials and university students from the State of North Carolina to appreciate the investment opportunities, student and cultural exchange potential between business and institutions in Trinidad and Tobago. During the meeting, Ambassador Parsan explained the competitive advantages, economic indicators and investment climate available in the twin island Republic. Furthermore, the business incentives and trade agreements that are facilitative to business activity with United States were highlighted.

Ambassador Parsan was also invited to address the Asian American Hotel Owners Association’s (AAHOA) North Carolina Regional Conference. Several hundred hotel owner members, operators as well as vendors were present during the business meeting. During his presentation, Dr. Parsan highlighted the efforts in Trinidad and Tobago in further developing the tourism and creative industries. The audience expressed great interest in learning more of the opportunities for tourism development as well as the ancillary support services required to support traditional as well as niche opportunities in tourism.

AAHOA members order more than 20,000 hotels across the United States, which is more than 40% of all US hotels and worth more than $128 billion in property value. AAHOA Director Patel said “we are always looking to create strong relationships with prominent figures who support the lodging industry, small business, and the business community…”
