Town Hall Meetings to discuss Obama administration Deferred Action Policy

SOUTH FLORIDA – Residents of South Florida are invited to attend two Immigration Town Hall Meetings to discuss the recent announcement by the Obama administration of Deferred Action for hundreds of thousands of young people who are in the United States unlawfully.

The first meeting will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Holy Family Episcopal Church, 18501 NW 7th Avenue, Miami Gardens; the second meeting on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at A Place for Restoration at 7636 Margate Boulevard in Margate. Both meetings will run from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, and will be conducted by attorneys Dahlia Walker-Huntington and Oliver J. Langstadt who will make presentations and answer questions on the new Immigration Policy Changes and how it will affect persons in the South Florida community.

“We are eager to share this exciting policy change with the community and to also advise of other prosecutorial discretion relief that the Department of Homeland Security offers to those who are not in the US legally”, said Oliver J. Langstadt. “It is critical that the community has an opportunity to ask questions and get competent legal advice. There is a deep concern about the unlicensed practice of law in South Florida,” says Langstadt.

Certified Public Accountant, Leary Mullings, will also join the panel to discuss the new reporting requirements for those American taxpayers who own, or are a signatory on a foreign bank account. This new rule will be implemented in January, 2013, and stands to affect thousands of American taxpayers who own bank accounts in foreign countries.

The event is also being supported by the Jamaican Consul General Sandra Grant-Griffiths, her staff will be present to assist Jamaican nationals with passport applications as the Consulate continues its community outreach programs.

The Town Hall Meeting is being sponsored by Law Offices of Dahlia A. Walker, PA; Oliver J. Langstadt, PA; Crichton Mullings & Associates; PNC Bank; Riddims Marketing and Hi-Class Promotions along with Holy Family Episcopal Church and A Place for Restoration.
