Tobago Welcomes the Return of Nonstop Delta Service from Atlanta

Scarborough, Tobago – The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is pleased to announce the reactivation of nonstop service between Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Tobago’s Crown Point International Airport on December 19, 2009.

The Atlanta-Tobago nonstop service will be seasonal and will operate once a week, departing Atlanta on Saturdays at 4:05 p.m. and returning from Tobago on Sunday mornings at 9:05 a.m. until April 24, 2010.

The flight will be operated on a Boeing 737-800, with 144 seats in economy class and 16 in first class. The service, that will complement Delta’s existing service between Port of Spain and Atlanta, and Port of Spain and New York-JFK, allows travelers from the US to by-pass the previously required stop-over and possible overnight in Trinidad.

“After a rather challenging time for our private sector partners here in Tobago throughout 2009, we certainly welcome Delta’s resumption of service to the island. This will give tremendous support to our planned marketing initiatives in the North American market and with travel packages through Delta Vacations coming on-line on December 15, our guests will be able to plan their vacation to the island with greater ease,” commented Assemblyman Oswald Williams, Secretary for Tourism and Transportation at the Tobago House of Assembly.

“As Delta continues to expand internationally, our seasonal nonstop service between Tobago and Atlanta is of paramount importance for our customers, especially during the holiday season, when so many families reunite,” said Raquel Chandleur, Sales Manager for Delta in Trinidad and Tobago. “Flying into the Atlanta airport is immensely advantageous, since we offer more than 1,000 connections to all major cities within the United States and to major capitals in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.”
