The Destination Experience Develops International Business For Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Destination Experience through its platform of curated social discovery experiences connects national and international decision makers to a dynamic network of people, ideas and opportunities for the Island of Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Following the successful staging of The Destination Experience (TDE) at the legendary GoldenEye Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica September 2014, TDE’s 2nd staging will be held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, January 14-16, 2016.

TDE 2016 is partnering with business titans Arthur Wylie & Michael Rollins (of Rose Hall Development Ltd, largest land owners in the Caribbean) to continue to catalyze and support more international business and socially impactful initiatives for Jamaica and the Caribbean.

A ‘Billion Dollar Round Table’ Session, the Arthur Wylie Foundation’s Celebrity and Global Leader Golf Tournament and events, with specially invited guests NBA Legend Julius Erving and Malik Yoba from Empire (http://becrazyandfearless.com/cfi) add to the distinctly curated TDE chef tasting and flagship party and other social discovery and networking experiences.

“The Arthur Wylie Foundation and its partners will also provide scholarship and mentorship opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs and young leaders, making this the perfect pairing.

Other notable guests and partners include Paula Kerr Jarrett and family, the business moguls leading a US$500 million investment to transform Montego Bay in a Technology and Business Hub; Yanik Silver – serial entrepreneur and founder of the Mavericks, a group of high performance entrepreneurs including a few who have experienced US$100 million exits, Kaci Fennell, Miss Universe Jamaica 2014, who shot to fame after her fifth place finish in the Miss Universe competition.  The world made it known via social media that they thought Kaci Fennell was snubbed of the win.

The Destination Experience Recognized By The White House

Intent on building out the broadest positive impact platform, the Curators/partners are encouraged that Co-Founder Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, of the Infiniti Partnership was recognized at an event at the White House by President Obama as one of seventy-five Emerging Global Entrepreneurs from around the world in part for his work with TDE.

The Destination Experience platform was recognized by the White House as an innovative platform for the promotion of entrepreneurship and a unique business catalyst. The event featured Shark Tank stars Barbara Cocoran, Daymond John, Mark Cuban as well as billionaire entrepreneurs Hamdi Ulukaya, Chobani , Brian Cheskny, Air BnB and Kirk-Anthony Hamilton. Kirk-Anthony was the only person from the Caribbean to receive this honour.

TDE adds value as it elevates the profile of the Caribbean on the global stage, facilitates local and international business deals and supports entrepreneurship and charity.  TDE connects business players through a mix of fun events and partnerships and seamlessly integrate brands, people, food and music.

The Destination Experience 2014 Successes

TDE 2014 was launched at the home of British High Commissioner, David Fitton. ‘Caribbean Chef of the Year 2013’, Chef Brian Lumley created and executed the dining experience that won favour with Errol Flynn, grandson of Luke Flynn.

Partnerships for the 2014 event included NCB, Visa Signature, Range Rover, Jaguar, Magellan Jets, Appleton Jamaica Rum & Virgin Atlantic.

Range Rover & Jaguar chose master chef Sean John of Spur Tree NYC to host a private lunch and drive experience on the day of the flagship party.

TDE 2014 underscored and assisted with the launch announcement of a multi-million dollar film deal with Arthur Wylie, Michael Rollins and Jeffrey Reddick (The creator of the Final Destination franchise). The film trilogy will be shot in Jamaica and is based on Montego Bay’s legend of Annie Palmer – The White Witch of Rose Hall.

On the charity side, TDE 2014 selected and worked with a set of entrepreneurs and provided them with access to a network of successful business leaders in non-threatening environments and The American Friends of Jamaica benefitted from a number of luxury items for their ‘charity auction’.

The Destination Experience 2016 Charitable Contributions

TDE 2016 will continue to partner with local young entrepreneurs.  Part proceeds will go to the The Arthur Wylie Foundation which will benefit the The Clinton Global Initiative, Branson Center for Entrepreneurship, Prince of Wales Foundation, Bob Marley Foundation, InRoads, LEAD, DIAMANTÉ Awards, and other Entrepreneurship and Leadership organizations.
