The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce launch Urban Partnership Program

MIAMI – The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development partnership, is pleased to announce the launch of the Urban Partnership for Prosperity (UPP) Program, a joint initiative of The Beacon Council and the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce.

The UPP program is designed to bring together leading corporations from throughout Miami-Dade County with African-American-owned businesses in a partnership which will support the long-term growth of the minority-owned businesses in our community.

Major companies like The Miami Herald, Regions Bank, Burger King are teaming up with local emerging business such as Foster Construction,
Holsen, Inc and In Touch Logistics and five others.

The innovative program is designed not only to enhance the economic success of the participating companies, but to assist in the long-term development of successful executives and employees in the minority community.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2006 from 10 a.m. – Noon at the Burger King Corporation World Headquarters, 5505 Blue Lagoon Drive Miami individuals can meet with:

City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones

Frank Nero, President & CEO, The Beacon Council

Bill Diggs, President & CEO, Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce

Representatives from participating corporations and minority-owned businesses
