TEMPO announces Nevis Musicians to appear at 3rd Anniversary Concert Commemorating St. Kitts-Nevis’ Independence Day

ST.KITTS – The sizzling Tempo Turns 3 concert slated for September 19th at FM Entertainment Grounds, Longpoint just got hotter with the addition of four top acts from Nevis. Frederick Morton, Tempo CEO announced today that Nevis performers Kasanova Band, Ultrasonic, Odisi and King Bingi have been added to a lineup of international performing artists.

Kasanova Band, formed in 1987 by the Maynard brothers, is a mainstay on Nevis, performing regularly at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club and the Four Seasons hotel.

Ultrasonic, was born in 2001 and quickly became a major soca band in the region, playing a wide range of soca, reggae, and calypso music has burned up the music charts, earning Road March title for the Nevis Culturama Festival in 2002, 2003, 2005 & 2007. They have toured throughout the Caribbean including the USVI, and also the UK.

Odisi band has earned fans throughout the Federation with their strong rhythms, while King Bingi has distinguished himself as one of the top calypsonians in Nevis.

These Nevis artists will join previously announced headliners who represent the extraordinary Past, exciting Present and shining Future of Caribbean music. Artists include: Machel Montano HD, Destra, Patrice Roberts, Farmer Nappy, The Mighty Sparrow, David Rudder, Claudette Peters, Wayne Marshall, Daville, Etana, Denise Belfon, and Ziggy Ranking.

The Tempo team, led by Founder, Chairman & CEO, Mr. Frederick A. Morton Jr. will be on hand during the concert, including Cross Caribbean Countdown’s Jahbami, Rise and Shine’s Jamie Thomas, Tempo News’ Lydia Patel and Live & Direct’s Nikki D, all alongside Host & Comedienne, Rachel Price.
Prior to the September 19 concert, TEMPO will take its special anti-violence campaign Badness Outta Style to youth in the Nevis community.

It is fitting that Tempo returns to Nevis to celebrate St. Kitts-Nevis Independence, according to Tempo Founder Frederick Morton.

“This is a very special celebration for TEMPO as the channel gained its own independence this past year. And so, to celebrate our 3rd Anniversary by returning to Nevis, where TEMPO was launched to celebrate St. Kitts-Nevis Independence is simply divine. We, of course, thank the good Lord for giving us the gift of three years and we commit ourselves to His honor and glory through His channel TEMPO, and for all the blessings He continues to bestow on our beloved Caribbean: TEMPO Forever!”

Tickets for the concert are currently on sale for EC$75.00 for general admission, and EC$125 for the VIP tent. Costs for each section will be more at the door. Doors at the FM Entertainment Grounds, Longpoint, Nevis open at 5:30pm and show time is 7:00pm, sharp.
