Take Broward County Transit to Broward Caribbean Carnival on Sunday, October 12

LAUDERHILL – BCT Goes Carnival! Whether you are a masquerader or spectator, Broward County Transit (BCT) is encouraging residents and visitors who plan to attend the Broward Caribbean Carnival to take routes 18, 36, 40 or 81 to the event at the Central Broward Regional Park on Sunday, October 12.

The bus routes stop at the Lauderhill Mall, a short walk to the park, which is located at 3700 N.W. 11th Place and Hwy. 441, in Lauderhill. Routes 36 and 40 stop at the park entrance. Transfers to the bus routes can be made from intersecting routes throughout the County, and to routes 40 and 81 at the Central Bus Terminal in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

“It is gratifying to have Broward County’s newest, premier regional park host this year’s event. The Carnival planners are expecting thousands to participate, and to avoid the hassles of finding a suitable parking place, why not relax and take a BCT bus?” said Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion, Jr. “The most convenient and cost-effective way to get to the Carnival is to ride BCT. There are many routes available to and from the park.”

The adult bus fare is $1.25 each way; youth 18 years and under and seniors 65 years and over pay$.60 each way. Children 40 inches tall and under ride for free. Tickets to the Broward Caribbean Carnival must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the park entrance. To purchase tickets in advance go to www.caribbeancarnival.org/
