St. Kitts and Nevis’ Nationals in Florida prepare for Independence 27th Anniversary
MIAMI – Kittitians and Nevisians in the State of Florida have begun preparation to celebrate the 27th Anniversary of the Independence of the twin-island Federation.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Association of Florida (SNAF) is finalising plans to host their 12th Annual Independence Dinner and Ball, on Saturday 18th September.
Under the theme “Building Our Future, Honoring Service” focus will be placed on creating a framework for continued success through its programmes, a platform from which the association and its members can positively impact the lives of others.
Due to the alarming number of catastrophic natural disasters in recent months, the organising committee has been mindful of the need to recognise and honour the immeasurable service and sacrifice made by healthcare workers.
In this regard, the keynote address is expected to bring awareness to the importance of service, and will be delivered by President and CEO of Baptist Health South Florida and Honorary Consul General to St. Kitts and Nevis, Mr. Brian Keeley.
The Independence celebrations will get off to an early start with prayer and worship at the Holy Family Episcopal Church, Miami Gardens on Sunday 12th September and concludes with a family picnic at Tropical Park, Miami on Sunday 19th September.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Association of Florida, Inc is a Non Profit Organisation, founded in 1998, which seeks to strengthen the St. Kitts and Nevis community in the state of Florida, establish cooperative partnerships with other groups and communities within the state and further the development and international awareness of the two-island Federation through programs that focus on healthcare, education, sports and culture.
