“It is a pleasure to be here and to have flown non-stop from Canada to St. Kitts and as we came into land to see and take in the scenic views of St. Kitts,” said Sherwood in a brief interview with the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM) as he entered the Arrivals Hall of the Robert L. Sherwood, who immigrated to Canada in 1969 but has been visiting several times over the past years said: “I still love St. Kitts.”

“It was terrific. It was fantastic. It was also a beautiful and excellent flight all the way through from Canada to St. Kitts and I am looking forward to have a fabulous time with my people of St. Kitts for Christmas and Carnival,” said Sherwood who will return in three weeks time.

It is his third Christmas/Carnival visit. The last time he visited was in 2008.

Several Nevisians and Kittitians who reside in various Canadian cities were onboard as St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and the Minister of Tourism and International Transport Sen. the Hon. Richard Skerritt welcomed the Air Canada flight AC1778.

The non-stop flight will operate from Toronto on Fridays and is the island’s only non-stop commercial flight from Canada, effectively making St. Kitts and its sister island, Nevis, a more viable winter destination choice for travelers from this key North American market.

Air Canada uses an Airbus 319 aircraft with 108 Economy Class seats and 12 Business Class seats.
