St. Croix To Welcome Royal Caribbean’s Vision Of The Seas Next Winter

U.S. Virgin Islands – St. Croix will welcome the arrival of Royal Caribbean International’s Vision of the Seas during the 2012-2013 winter season. The ship, which offers 19 Caribbean and Panama Canal cruise vacations, will call on St. Croix once this Fall on December 17, 2012, and twice in early 2013, on January 7 and February 22 (dates are subject to change).

Ranging from 10 to 15 nights, the Vision of the Seas itineraries are designed to provide passengers with a wide variety of destinations often overlooked by the larger ships during their seven-night voyages. The 10-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary departing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. will feature St. Croix as one of several ports of call.

“The news comes at an excellent time, as we are aggressively pursuing opportunities to boost the number of visitors to the Territory as a whole, especially on St. Croix,” said Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty. “We expect that the outstanding experiences Vision of the Seas passengers will have on St. Croix will only serve as a case study to attract additional vessels to the island heading into the next year.”

With each Vision of the Seas call, St. Croix can expect to see an influx of more than 2,400 passengers.
