South Florida’s Jamaica Consulate Outreach Program goes on the road

MIAMI – Several Jamaican agencies offering a range of direct client services will participate in a Community Outreach Day next Monday (Oct. 6) at the Community Council, at 3720 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderdale Lakes.
Services will cover the processing of Jamaican passport and citizenship applications and consular services and will begin at 12 noon through 7 p.m.

Organized by the Jamaica Consulate General in Miami, the team will include representatives from the Consulate as well as the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) and the Passport and Immigration and Citizen Agency (PICA) from Jamaica.

Other matters will include the processing of vital records by the Registrar General Department such as applications for birth, death and marriage, and genealogical services.

To ensure the efficient and timely processing of any application submitted, persons are being reminded of the need to produce the necessary supporting documents and fees. In this regard, interested persons can contact the Jamaica Consulate General at 305-374-8431 ext. 221, 232 or 238, and on line at www.jamaicacgmiami.org and, the Registrar General’s Department at website at www.rgd.gov.jm.

According to the Consul General, Ms. Sandra Grant-Griffiths, this is the first in a new series of outreach activities aimed at providing Jamaican nationals with the pertinent, personal information, and making the overseas Mission more ‘user friendly’ as its services are taken “on the road.”
