South Florida Hospitals Team Up to Send Much Needed Aid to Haiti

MIAMI – North Shore Medical Center in partnership with the Archdiocese of Miami and Catholic Charities, have collected more than $10,290 in monetary donations from employees and physicians towards relief efforts for the Haitian earthquake victims.

“The need is immense and North Shore Medical Center has done a great deal to assist with disaster relief operations in Haiti by collecting monetary donations. The financial aid will help us provide disaster services where it is needed most”, says Dr. Richard Turcotte of Catholic Charities.

Employees from Tenet sister hospitals Palmetto General Hospital, and Hialeah Hospital also participated in the fundraising efforts.

“We extend our heartfelt prayers and hope for recovery to the people of Haiti”, says Manny Linares, CEO of North Shore Medical Center. “The efforts of our employees and physicians contributing monetary donations will help ease some of the pain and suffering the people of Haiti have endured as a result of the devastating earthquake.”
