School Board of Broward County honors Jamaican Nationals

FT. LAUDERDALE – The Kids In Science (K.I.S.) Club was honored with a Resolution from The School Board of Broward County on May 5th 2009 in recognition of its contribution in Math and Science to young boys and girls and their families in Broward County.

The Broward School Board, spearheaded by Ms. Phyllis Hope, has designated the Month of May as Math and Science Month in Broward County.

This Resolution was presented to Eric and Claudette Hammond, who were lauded by Ms. Hope and The School Board for their persistent and tireless contribution in Science and for preparing these young scientists for the future.

It was stated that Math and Science literacy have become a National focus and if we are to remain globally competitive then the critical shortage in these disciplines must be addressed. The School Board of Broward County is urging all schools, departments and centers within its jurisdiction to support this observation of May as “Science Month” and the theme: “Science Exploration”

The Hammonds are extremely delighted to be a part of this very important effort as they continue to “Support The Kids As They Grow Into Science”.
