Rogers Taps Longtime powerhouse, Marlon Bolton, as Communications Director

BROWARD COUNTY — Newly elected Broward County Commissioner, Hazelle Rogers announced that Marlon Bolton has joined her staff as Communications Director. Bolton, who also serves as Vice Mayor for the City of Tamarac, will handle public relations and Communications strategies for Rogers.

“I’m excited that Marlon will join my team. His background in marketing, advertising, and community engagement compliments my vision for district 9.” Said Rogers.

Bolton was first elected to the Tamarac City Commission back In 2016, becoming the first black elected official in the City’s history. He later became the city’s first Black Vice Mayor and is currently serving his 2nd term as Commissioner and Vice Mayor.

“Marlon’s experience as an elected official is unique and will benefit this position. I have every confidence that he will be successful in his position” Rogers added.

Broward County District 9 covers parts of Plantation, Sunrise, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, and Oakland Park. The City of Tamarac is not included in the District.

Bolton, who was named one of Broward County’s most powerful black leaders by Legacy magazine, shared his excitement. “I am happy to join Team Rogers. I do not doubt that my contribution to her team will be invaluable. Public service is my passion and this is another way to use my talents to support Broward County residents.”
