Reggae Symphony promises to be more thrilling this year

FT. LAUDERDALE – – Grammy nominated Reggae Ambassador Freddie McGregor, the Queen of Reggae, Marcia Griffiths and veteran Reggae singer/songwriter Bob Andy will be the featured performers at the staging of Reggae Symphony 2009, on Sunday,March 29, 7:00pm at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

Accompanied by Lloyd Parkes’ We the People Band and the Reggae Strings Orchestra, the featured reggae icons will perform a number of their chart topping hits such as I Was Born a Winner, Big Ship, Push Come to Shove, Truly, Live On, Electric Boogie, Fire Burning, Let Them Say, Too Experienced, Young Gifted & Black and many more!

Queen of Reggae – Marcia Griffiths

Many are excited about seeing Marcia Griffiths and Bob Andy together on stage, as they have a series of hits together, most notably their rendition of “Young, Gifted and Black” which went to number 5 in the UK in 1970. Including Freddie McGregor, all three performers have an outstanding and extensive repertoire from which they will perform, thrilling the audience as they sing hit after hit.

As in last year’s show, the audience will be singing along and on their feet dancing as they are captivated by the music. All three performers have been recognized by the Government of Jamaica for their achievements and contributions to the island’s musical heritage with the Order of Distinction. – O.D., the third highest honor the government can award an individual. Saxophonist Dean Fraser will make a guest appearance, impressing patrons with his breathtaking horn styling.

County Line Chiropractic Centers and JN Money Transfer have launched promotional initiatives offering customers who register an opportunity to win tickets to Reggae Symphony. Weekly winners will be announced on various radio programs and posted at their offices.
