Reggae artist Prestige, On Top of Things

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Class is class and when it comes to being at the top of their game, it’s singing sensation Prestige.

Now under the watchful eyes of Daddy Fras from Timeless Records, Prestige is gearing up for some big things career wise.

Come Saturday, June 23, Prestige will be one of the featured performers on the Portmore Awards slated to be held at the Caymanas Park Infield. Then come June 30, the talented performer heads for Trinidad where he is booked to appear. For the first week in July he heads to New York where he will fulfill his obligations there.

Also on his calendar is an impressive gig in Europe where he is expected to be featured on one of the biggest festivals in Sweden, the Uppsala Reggae Festival which runs from August 9-11. There he will be sharing stage with the likes of Bunny Wailer, Beenie Man, Richie Spice, Yellowman and Earl Sixteen.

While in Jamaica, Prestige is not missing out on any of the action. With a laugh he shared, “We are partying almost every night when in Jamaica. Nuff respect to Portmore crews, Vybz Kartel and the Portmore Empire, Bascom X, Mikey Pelpa, Ghandi, Gyptian, Mega Banton and others.”

By the way, whenever he is in Jamaica he doesn’t miss Dutty Fridayz, Fletchers Land, Rum Ram Thursdays and in Drewsland, St. Andrew, Prestige is the organizer of the Early Tuesdays dance there.

Prestige’s latest single titled ‘Wi Nuh Trust Dem’ is getting good rotation on several top radio stations. He is now in the process of shooting the video for the song and focusing on his upcoming album which is being produced by Timeless Records.

Word from that camp is that the album will be a real collector’s item.

“Prestige has some real good tracks on the album and it will be a first class production,” Fras emphasized on his Timeless effort.

This weekend Prestige will be one of the featured performers on a show put on by Bascom X and Vybz Kartel.
