Prime Minister of Grenada visits Point Fortin, Trinidad

Point Fortin, Trinidad – The Honourable Tillman Thomas Prime Minister of Grenada paid an official visit to the borough of Point Fortin while visiting Trinidad and Tobago during on Thursday, August 14.

Point Fortin is a major oil producing town which has attracted a lot of migrant labour from countries in the Caribbean among them Grenada. It therefore has a very active Grenadian community comprising of second generation Grenadians whose fore parents came during the oil boom in the early 1940s.


Prime Minister Thomas

Prime Minister Thomas paid a courtesy call on His Worship the Mayor Alderman Victor Mitchell, the Mayor of Point Fortin and the full Council. He was presented with the key to the Borough and invited to sign the visitor’s book.

Prime Minister Tillman then tour the Atlantic LNG facility where he viewed the total process which converts the raw material before it is finally processed into liquefied natural gas. He toured the intake area, the processing area and the liquefaction area.

The Honourable Prime Minister also participated in two presentations conducted by Atlantic LNG, Safety Induction and the Business of Atlantic LNG. Prime Minister Tillman will be hosted to lunch by Atlantic LNG.
