Play Ball! Cricket and Netball Competition in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL – The 6th Annual City of Lauderhill International Cricket Cup and the 2nd Annual Lauderhill Netball Competition will begin this Saturday, February 9th, at the Lauderhill Sports Park (7500 W. Oakland Park Blvd.).

Cricket begins at 5:00 pm and Netball at 6:30pm.
Soccer began their league two weeks ago and their games begin at 6:00pm.

Two exhibition matches will be played, the first between SFCA Youth Team and Team Lauderhill at 5:00pm, following this match, all 10 participating Teams will show their team spirit in the Parade of Colors, where the players unveil their new 2008 uniforms.

The Official Opening Ceremony takes place at 7:30pm. The winners of the first match will move on to play last years Champions, Team Pakistan at 8pm.

Participating cricket teams include: Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Leeward Islands, Windward Islands, Guyana, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and the Lauderhill Team. First game begins at 5:00pm and the second at 8:00pm so come out and enjoy two 20 Over matches that promise to be highly competitive.

The Netball competition begins at 6:30pm and the second game at 8:00pm. This competition draws teams from various parts of South Florida and this also gives our very own Lauderhill Angels Netball Team an opportunity to sharpen and develop their playing skills and at the same time promoting the sport of Netball.

Soccer games have stared at the park, and on Saturday nights you have the opportunity to see a high caliber of soccer games beginning at 6:00pm. Most nights there will be 2 games played, the second starts at 8:00pm. Soccer also draws teams from all parts of South Florida and from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Finals for Cricket, Soccer and Netball will all conclude on Saturday, May 31st.

Admission to Cricket, Soccer and Netball are FREE.
