Heavy Weight Leaders Of Panelist To Share Blueprint Of Success At Florida Memorial University

MIAMI GARDENS – Florida Memorial University is partnering with the Andrew Young Legacy Lecture Series to share Blueprint of Success, on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 2pm-4pm.

The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, in conjunction with the Andrew Young Emerging Leaders Program, and Florida Memorial University (FMU) will host an interactive lecture at Florida Memorial’s Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts building located at 15800 N.W. 42nd Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33054

The theme for the series is Americas’ Promises: Black American’s Challenges (Mental & Emotional, Financial, Disenfranchisement, Violence & Access to Quality Education). 

The series is widely regarded as one of the nation’s unique platforms for distinguished and engaging discussions at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Florida Memorial University students in attendance will have the opportunity to win scholarships ranging from $100 to $400 and must be present to win.

The impressive panelists for the series include:

  • Dr. C.T. Vivian – Civil Rights Icon & Presidential Medal of Freedom Recipient
  • Thomas W. Dortch, Jr. – NBCA Hall of Fame Chairman & Founder
  • Susan Taylor – CARES Mentoring Movement
  • Judge Penny Brown-Reynolds – TV Show Host, Philanthropist & Pastor
  • Dontia Barrett – Miss NBCA Hall of Fame
  • Dr. William Pickard – President & CEO of Global Automotive Alliance
  • Stevie Baggs, Jr. – Former NFL Player
  • Miss Florida Memorial University – Yolanda Christophe
  • Duran Saunders – FMU SGA President

“The Legacy Lecture Series is a vehicle that allows the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. to share the experiences and wisdom of our current and developing leaders, explains, Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., NBCA Hall of Fame Foundation Chairman.  “It chronicles their journeys from the past and their visions for the future”.
