OAS Secretary General Meets with the President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council of Haiti

BARBADOS – The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today met with the President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council of Haiti, Emmanuel Menard, within the framework of a meeting on political financing being held in Barbados in which both are participating.

Secretary General Insulza and Mister Menard discussed electoral matters, the upcoming legislative elections in the Haiti and the cooperation that the hemispheric institution can offer during the process.

The meeting took place in the context of the “Regional Forum on Strengthening Political Party and Campaign Financing Reform in the Caribbean” taking place in Bridgetown. During his visit to the Caribbean country, the Secretary General will be received by the Prime Minister, Freundel Stuart; the Attorney General, Adriel Brathwaite; the Foreign Minister, Senator Maxine McClean; and the leader of the opposition, Mia Motley.
