North Miami – North Miami Vice Mayor, Alix Desulme is endorsing, Bernie Sanders for President. “It is with great pleasure and honor that I throw my full political support behind Senator Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Nomination’, says Desulme.
Bernie Sanders is a compassionate advocate for the working class and has been a fighter for racial justice since the civil rights movement in the 60’s. His advocacy against income inequality and for Wall Street reform and for making college education and quality health care available to everyone, would greatly benefit people of color as would his calls for criminal justice and comprehensive immigration reform. These are core issues that are important to me and my constituents.
I for one cannot think of anyone more suited to the job. Bernie has been a public servant for over 32 years in actual elective office. Bernie has proven to us that he has the integrity, the vision, and the will to be the next President for all.
Furthermore, Bernie Sanders has proven through his commitment to the issues that affect the African-American & Haitian community and working people. Bernie also he has the moral backbone and political skills to see them through. Some of the issues mentioned above, like criminal justice reform, will require an internal fortitude that Bernie has shown to have plenty of. Plus, most importantly, he recognizes the need of the active participation of us all in the political process to be able to assure that the will of the people is listened to.
For all these reasons, I am proud to endorse Bernie Sanders for President of the United States.
