NoMaddz Live at the Circle Village Concert Series In Miami
MIAMI – Reggae Month has been in full effect in Miami, Florida. Last night’s (Monday, Feb. 16) main event was the Circle Village Popup Concert presented by Solid Agency, Abebe Lewis, and Urban Relations PR.
The evening featured NoMaddz in an intimate, up close and personal performance inside the Circle Village Live Studio. Tastemakers and DJ’s throughout the city came in anticipation to get a glimpse of the future and find out who is NoMaddz! The group performed several tracks from the album and the audience was locked into every word and every instruments. Some say, “they got next.”
The NoMaddz Popup Concert is the first of many series to follow. The Royal Family of Reggae, Morgan Heritage, is next featuring their soon to be released album, “Strictly Roots.”
Who is NoMaddz?
No-Maddz has a prismatic sound that encompasses the best of Jamaican music past and present, along with anything else that happens to inspire the quartet. Amid worries about the future of dancehall and rumblings about a true roots reggae revival, No-Maddz comes out with tough-to-categorize “Shotta,” a song that borrows a little fire from both sides. Then, the band has tracks like “Romance” with a fresh bubblegum feel that harks back to vintage lovers rock and the R&B inspirations of early ska. (“Romance” also contains heavy deposits of modern, radio-grade earwormium.

They clearly have other things on their minds than fitting into any one music scene. The group’s chameleonic nature may come in part from the fact that the members are all actors in addition to being musicians, with roots in the world of dub poetry. – MTV IGGY
