New U.S. Embassy building in Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The New Year’s resolution of U.S. Embassy Bridgetown is to move into a brand new building to provide better service to the people of Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.

The new location will be in the Wildey Business Park, Wildey, St. Michael. All agencies of the U.S. Mission in Bridgetown, including the Consular Section, will be located in this facility. The total cost of the new building is US$ 33.8 million, of which over US$ 10 million was paid to local companies for goods and services provided.

The new building is part of the “Art in Embassies” program which showcases the works of artists from the United States, Barbados and each of the six Eastern Caribbean States.

The embassy will also house a new Information Resource Center open to the public, by appointment, for professional and academic research on U.S. issues and information, and a multi-purpose room for small group meetings, educational programs and cultural events.

The move from three current buildings will take place over four days in mid-January, at non-peak hours in an effort to minimize traffic disruption in downtown Bridgetown. We apologize in advance to the general public for any inconvenience the move may cause, and request your patience as we move into a new and modern facility.

Wildey Road Business Park is served by the Bridgetown-St. Patrick route of both the Transport Board and the Yellow Bus lines, as well as Route 10 of the ZR vans.
