New Appointment System at the U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay, Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The U.S. Consular Agency in Montego Bay, Jamaica will begin accepting applications for U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad by appointment only on Monday, July 11, 2011. This will allow the Consular Agency to provide consular services more efficiently to U.S. citizens throughout the western region of Jamaica. This includes the parishes of Hanover, St. Ann, St. James, Trelawny, and Westmoreland.

U.S. citizen residents of all other parishes must apply at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston. No appointment will be necessary for notarial services.

Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis by e-mail only. Appointment times will be available between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday (except Jamaican and U.S. holidays). To schedule an appointment, send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following information included in the text of the email:

Type of service requested (minor passport, adult passport renewal, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, etc.); Full name of applicant; applicant’s date and place of birth; and
Desired appointment time(s).

All requests will receive a response within two business days. Please note that every individual application requires a separate appointment, so parents cannot make one appointment for multiple children.

All requests for emergency passports must still go through the U.S. Embassy in Kingston. U.S. citizens in need of emergency assistance should contact the Embassy at (876)702– 6450 or e-mail the American Citizen Services Unit at [email protected].
