Miami Pan Symphony Brings Caribbean Flavor to Obama Rally

SUNRISE – Miami Pan Symphony will perform, along with latin funk band Spam Allstars, at a Rally for Senator Barack Obama on Friday May 21, 3:30pm at the Bank Atlantic Center, One Panther Parkway in the City of Sunrise, Broward County, Florida.

Under the musical direction of Leon “Foster” Thomas, Miami Pan Symphony Steel Orchestra is a steel pan orchestra located in South Miami-Dade and composed of a number high school and college students of Caribbean descent. The group has performed for a variety of audiences throughout South Florida and has received numerous accolades championship trophies for the steel band competitions, including the “Best Beating Steel Band” for the Carnival parade during the yearly Miami Caribbean American Carnival celebrations.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is strongly encouraged at http://fl.barackobama.com/browardrally.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 2pm and the program begins at 3:30pm.
