MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament to be played in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL – Cricket Council USA has secured the dates to host the MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament ’08 at the beautiful, state of the art Cricket Stadium located at the Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill.

The Tournament will be held over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 23, 24, 25, 2008.

ALL STAR Cricketers from India, Pakistan, West Indies and the World XI will participate in the MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament ’08. Prize money will be awarded to the Champion and Runner Up Teams as well as to outstanding individual efforts of the Cricketers.


The Cricket Stadium has permanent grandstand seating capacity of 5,000. However, additional seating is available to enhance the seating capacity to 20,000.

We anticipate attendance for the Three Day Tournament to be over 35,000 spectators.

In addition to exciting International Cricket that will be on full display during the Memorial Day Weekend, entertainment in the form of concerts will be held on Saturday and Sunday Evenings. Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Steel Pan, Indian and Pakistani artists will keep the spectators singing and dancing long after Cricket is over!

The Tournament will draw on the diverse demographic makeup of the South Florida Community: West Indies, Pakistanis, Indians, Hispanic and the General Market.

Cricket Fans from the Caribbean, the Northeast, the Mid-Atlantic, Central Florida and Atlanta will enjoy Memorial Day Weekend at the Cricket Stadium.
