Largeup Becomes Apple Music Curator For Caribbean Music

The island culture site is creating playlists for Apple music streaming service
NEW YORK– LargeUp, the global platform for Caribbean music and culture, is the latest curator to join Apple Music, Apple’s streaming music service, and the first to exclusively showcase Caribbean music.
Just in time for Barbados’ Crop Over festival, LargeUp is putting a spotlight on The Music of Barbados with a playlist highlighting the sounds that fuel Rihanna’s favorite party.
Other playlists include a roundup of 2016 Summer Dancehall Anthems and a primer on Johnny Osbourne, the resilient reggae pioneer and Major Lazer collaborator. Find more playlists on LargeUp’s Apple Music curator channel here.
To coincide with the launch, LargeUp has produced “The Music of Barbados,” a webisode series taking you inside Barbados’ Carnival culture.
Check out the first three videos, featuring Bajan soca icons Alison Hinds, Lil Rick and Peter Ram
