Laparkan signs agreement with European Cargo Services

MIAMI – As the leading international air and sea cargo operators serving the Caribbean seek to expand their market share, Laparkan Airways has signed an agreement with European Cargo Services Globe Air Cargo under which that company will serve as general sales agents for Laparkan Airways in the North Eastern United States, an area which includes New York and New Jersey. ECS will market the freight capacity of Laparkan Airways current twice weekly wide body B767-200 freighter service to the Caribbean.

The agreement was inked Thursday during the Americas Air and Sea Cargo Congress and Exhibition which ends here today.

ECS General Manager (USA) Ulrich Baersch said that Laparkan Airways offers an efficient and cost effective service to major destinations in the Caribbean including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, Suriname and now St. Lucia and “we are confident that the larger freight forwarders in New York would want to take advantage of this service.

“We have served as general sales agents for Laparkan Airways in the Texas market which includes Houston and Dallas for the past eight months and already enjoy a 30 per cent share of this market. Our customers are happy with the Laparkan service….there have been no service failures and we are working to increase our market share there. I am sure that forwarders in New York with the knowledge of the reliable service which Laparkan Airways offers will develop confidence in this freight carrier,” Baersch said.

Laparkan’s Network Air Cargo Manager John Green said Laparkan Airways is pleased to add the northeastern US to the areas in which Globe Air Cargo will represent Laparkan Airways.

“Working with the Globe Air team of professional sales personnel can only help to increase Laparkan Airways’ visibility as the premier freighter service to the Caribbean. We look forward to increasing our market share in the northeastern United States,” Green said.
