Lakes Commissioner honored as one of South Florida’s Top 25 Black Women

LAUDERDALE LAKES – Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner Hazelle P. Rogers was recently named one of South Florida’s Most Prominent and Successful Black Women by Success South Florida magazine.

Rogers and 24 other notable Black women who reside in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County and have displayed tremendous passion, remarkable leadership, and exemplary service in their careers and communities were featured in the magazine’s August/September issue.

According to Bill Diggs, President/CEO of the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce and co-chairman of the selection committee, the women were selected from a pool of 240 nominees because they “exemplified professionalism and business-savvy and contributed their time and resources to uplift the community at large.”

“It is truly an honor to be among this esteemed group of women who are being recognized for achieving great things on behalf of their communities,” said Rogers, a realtor and mortgage broker by profession who was first elected to the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission in 1996.
