Jamaican Herbalist to Facilitate Workshops on “Income Sustainability with Herbs” on the Islands of San Andres and Providence

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dr. Diane Robertson, a Jamaican pharmacist, renowned herbal consultant and contributor to the Health Column of the Daily Gleaner will be traveling to the islands of San Andres and Old Providence.

These islands include Catalina, the cays and banks of their archipelago. The inhabitants of which are highly environmentally conscious. Since November 2000, the area is now known as a Biosphere Reserve.

In 2005, she was invited by the Carolinas to make a presentation at a South American Conference held in San Andres and as a result, was asked to return to train rural indigenous peoples in growing, packaging and manufacturing their herbs.

Upon her return to Jamaica, Dr. Robertson will continue writing her new second edition version of Jamaican Herbs and their Uses to be completed by mid- 2008.

Due to the growing interest in culinary and wellness tourism, Dr. Robertson has collaborated with Dr. Aris Latham, renowned raw food chef and food scientist who is the founder of Sunfired Food science and Sunfired Food Institute to produce related tours & workshops.

Dr. Robertson will be hosting an Herb Specialist workshop programme, Modules I & II, slated to begin by March 7, 2008 in Kingston. In addition, she will also be available for professional speaking engagements.
