Jamaican Diaspora hosts Olympic Watch Party of Men’s 100 Meter Finals

MIAMI LAKES – The Jamaican Diaspora in collaboration with Fastest Nation will host an Olympics Watch Party to view the Men’s 100 meter semi-finals and finals, on Saturday, August 16, 7:30am at Don Shula’s, 6843 Main Street in Miami Lakes.

The eyes of the world will be glued to television sets across the world to see who will be the fastest man and woman in the world . Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell will battle American Tyson Gay and other world and Caribbean sprinters for the coveted title. The women’s final is scheduled for Sunday, August 17.

“Track and field is a passion and vocation for Jamaicans. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our heritage and to share the Olympic spirit with each other and the community at large. If you blink, you may miss the race,” stated Marlon Hill, Jamaican Diaspora Advisory Board Member to the Southern United States.

The public is welcome. Admission is free.
