NEW YORK – The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), in collaboration with the Palladium Hotel Group, recently hosted two intimate appreciation events in Long Island and New Rochelle. These events recognized and thanked a select group of Jamaica Travel Specialists for their continued dedication and support in promoting and selling destination Jamaica.
The first event took place at Maggiano’s “Little Italy” in Garden City, Long Island. Approximately 15 travel specialists enjoyed a three-course luncheon there. During the lunch, they also received the latest updates on destination Jamaica and the Palladium Hotel Group in Jamaica.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Shar Parks was the lucky winner of a complimentary 4-day/3-night stay for two at the Grand Palladium. Meanwhile, Philip Rasco received a Jamaica Tourist Board gift bag containing a T-shirt, Jamaican coffee, and a traditional rum cake.

The appreciation continued the following evening at the Jamaican-owned Krave Eatery in New Rochelle. At Krave Eatery, 13 travel specialists were treated to an authentic Jamaican dining experience. Guests also received updates on the destination and the Grand Palladium property. They enjoyed the warm hospitality and vibrant flavors of Jamaica during the evening.
Geneice Hodge of Indi Star Destinations Travel Company emerged as the grand prize winner. She received a complimentary 4-day/3-night stay for two at the Grand Palladium. Additionally, Paramjit Chadha won a Jamaica Tourist Board gift bag featuring Jamaican coffee, a T-shirt, and a rum cake.

Both events were hosted by Devika Sooknauth, Business Development Manager, Northeast, for the Palladium Hotel Group. Victoria Harper, District Sales Manager, Northeast USA, for the Jamaica Tourist Board, also hosted the events.
Addressing attendees, Sooknauth and Harper emphasized the critical role that Jamaica Travel Specialists play in driving visitor arrivals. The specialists accomplish this by enthusiastically promoting the destination and matching travelers with authentic Jamaican experiences.
“The appreciation events represent a small gesture of our gratitude and are one way of expressing thanks for the work they do in selling Jamaica,” said Sooknauth and Harper. “Our Jamaica Travel Specialists are valued partners whose commitment and passion continue to contribute to the success of destination Jamaica, and we deeply appreciate their ongoing support.”
The appreciation events underscore the continued partnership between the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Palladium Hotel Group in strengthening relationships with the travel advisor community while reaffirming their shared commitment to showcasing Jamaica as a premier Caribbean destination.
