Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge” Golf Kicks Off In Montego Bay

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – The fourth annual Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge”, presented by NIKE GOLF kicked off on Wednesday, December 2 with a welcome reception at the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall in Montego Bay.

The action got underway on Thursday, December 3 with an early morning tee off, which saw the thirty-eight teams from the United States, Canada and Europe, comprising three amateur golfers and their course professionals begin competition in the first round of the 54-hole event on two of Jamaica’s best golf courses, Cinnamon Hill and White Witch. Professionals participating in the week-long event will have the opportunity to vie for a $10,000 prize purse, while amateurs have the opportunity to win prizes donated by sponsors American Airlines, Nike Golf, Air Jamaica, Ritz Carlton Golf Resort & Spa and The Shoppes at Rose Hall for the exciting hole contests.

The second of the three round event on Friday, December 4, being played using the one best ball net format, will see teams battling to make the 36-hole cut ahead of the championship round on Saturday, December 5, 2009.

According to Mr. Kevin Goldscheitter, NIKE GOLF East Regional Sales Manager, “We are excited to be partnering with the Jamaica Tourist Board and The Golf Connection again in staging this year’s event. Last year was the first time our company was involved with the tournament and we were quite pleased with the outcome and have returned this year to build on the successes we enjoyed.”

The Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am is managed by The Golf Connection LLC. All players and guests will enjoy the warm hospitality and world-renowned service of The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica’s only AAA Five Diamond Resort. NIKE GOLF, presenting sponsor of the event for the second year in a row, will be showcasing their latest products through branded gift bags, interactive sampling programs, on-course contests and participant prizes.
