Jamaica Hotels Lead Caribbean Region In Travel + Leisure’s List Of World’s Best Hotels

KINGSTON, Jamaica – In Travel + Leisure’s ninth annual guide to the world’s 500 best hotels, readers selected eight Jamaican properties—double the number received by any other Caribbean island. Each year, the T+L 500 showcases the world’s top-ranked hotels based on travelers’ first-hand experiences of a property’s rooms and facilities, restaurants and food, location, service, and value.*

Commenting on Jamaica’s outstanding results, Director of Tourism John Lynch remarked: “We’re honored that so many of our properties received glowing praise from those whose opinions matter to us most—our visitors. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to position Jamaica as a leading tourist destination and provide travelers with accommodations that stand among the world’s best.”

The eight Jamaican properties to make the 2011 T+L 500 cut for the Caribbean region include: Couples Negril; Couples Sans Souci; Couples Swept Away; Couples Tower Isle; Jamaica Inn; Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall; Round Hill Hotel & Villas; and Sandals Whitehouse European Village & Spa.
