ATLANTA – Following its sold-out American Black Film Festival premiere, Miles Mussenden’s feature directorial debut has emerged as the most-nominated title at the inaugural Caribbean Film Awards, earning nine nominations and underscoring a breakout moment for Caribbean storytelling on the awards circuit.

Directed, produced by and starring London-born American actor-filmmaker Miles Mussenden, who is of Guyanese heritage, Homage received nominations in the following categories:
- Best Feature Film
- Best Actor — Majah Hype
- Best Director — Miles Mussenden
- Best Screenplay
- Best Original Soundtrack / Music in Film
- Best Costume Design
- Caribbean Heritage Film Award
- Caribbean Film of the Year
- Best Emerging Filmmaker
Winners will be announced Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Theater N in Wilmington, Delaware.
Mussenden, known to television audiences for roles in Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, Tulsa King, The Walking Dead, Doom Patrol, Swagger, Based on a True Story and the now-streaming Cape Fear, steps behind the camera with Homage, marking a significant expansion of his creative profile.
Since its ABFF debut, Homage has continued to gain traction for its intimate portrait of family, legacy and Caribbean identity. The film is available worldwide to rent or purchase on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.

About ‘Homage’
Homage is a dramatic feature centered on family, identity, redemption, forgiveness and the enduring strength of Caribbean culture. The film follows characters confronting the past while discovering the transformative power of love, legacy and community.
The ensemble cast includes Miles Mussenden, Majah Hype, Nadirah Shakir, Kameron Washington, Juliet Bodley, also known as Julie Mango, Negus Imara and internationally acclaimed dancehall artist Demarco, born Collin Edwards.
The filmmakers expressed appreciation to the Caribbean Film Awards Selection Committee for the recognition and congratulated this year’s nominees. They also credited the American Black Film Festival for its continued support of diverse voices and culturally resonant storytelling.
