Haitian Cultural Alliance To Host Miami Native Gelan Lambert from Fela Musical for a Community Meet and Greet and Community Dance Workshop

MIAMI – Haitian American, Miami, native Gelan Lambert, graduate of the Juillard School of BFA in Dance, trained at the Ailey School Broadway Theatre Project, The Joffrey School of America Ballet, and has appeared with the Martha Graham Dance Company.

Lambert plays J.K., Fela Kuti’s “right hand man,” in the Broadway musical Fela!, a popular show that chronicles the highlights and complexities of Kuti’s short life. Gelan’s journey stems from a working-class family unable to afford the dance lessons that he bartered for — dance lessons that would springboard him from Little Haiti to Miami’s New World School of the Arts to Julliard to Broadway.

Gelan Lambert of Fela will be at Little Haiti Cultural Center- 212 NE 59th Terrance, Miami to talk about his journey in the performing arts world on March 21 from 5pm-7pm and at the
Afro-Fusion Community Dance Class taught by Gelan Lambert on March 25 at 7pm.

Both events are free and open to public.
