Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and partners engages the community

FT. LAUDERDALE – The Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce opened the annual celebration of June as Caribbean Heritage Month with Unifest and partners City of Lauderdale Lakes and the Greater Caribbean American Cultural Coalition.

The chamber closed the month long celebration on July 1st with partner, Broward College at a chamber meeting at The Broward College location in Ft. Lauderdale. Event speakers included Representative Hazelle Rogers, District 95, Broward College Senior Economic Development Staff and special guest Congressman Alcee Hastings.

At the event photographer, David I. Muir, presented his book “Pieces of Jamaica™, The Real Rock Edition” to Congressman Hastings. The book features vivid photographs of Jamaica’s rustic reality juxtaposed with spirited humanity and an intrinsic beauty found in Jamaicans. That, coupled with the rich, authentic culture breathes life into this intriguing coffee table book.

The chamber activities continues with its signature annual summer student Internship program with local businesses BSO, McKinley Insurance, Pearl Vision, PEOPLE490 Business Consulting, City County Credit Union, Larparkan Shipping, Golden krust Bakery and HB Enterprises, LLC.
