FORT LAUDERDALE – Grace Foods kicked off their exciting Jerk Festival promotions on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Publix Supermarket at Inverarry Falls on Oakland Park Blvd in Lauderhill, featuring colorful displays, product sampling, festival ticket giveaways, cooking demonstrations and a live broadcast on Hot105 FM.
The first of five “Road Shows” – leading up to the highly anticipated Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival, scheduled for Sunday, November 14, at Markham Park in Sunrise – got off to a stirring start. Patrons were greeted with a lively mix of Reggae and Soca music by DJ Dre of Nocturnal Musical Sounds, while Rob O’Snap of Hot 105 engaged shoppers, offering prizes and inviting listeners to join in on the fun.
Grace Foods mounted displays and brand locations where Publix customers could sample or purchase an array of tasty Grace products – from banana chips and plantain chips to their new NURIsHMENT food drink. Customers also received Grace recipes to make their own delicious, authentic Jamaican foods using Grace’s top quality products.

Additionally, customers who purchased three to six Grace products got a chance to spin-the-wheel and win Grace aprons, mittens and barbecue sets. They could also enter to win gift baskets and Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival tickets.

But what the patrons couldn’t resist was the cooking demonstrations from Grace Chef Michelle Jones. Jones prepared a number of delicious meals including a spicy Jerk Rice with Curry using an assortment of vegetables, chicken and rice prepared with Grace Curry, Grace Jerk Sauce and other Grace seasonings. Chef Jones did her magic inside the Publix store, as delighted shoppers stopped by to sample her tasty curry.
According to Publix shopper, Tonya Robinson, who watched and waited until Chef Jones prepared the dish, “It was very tasty. I liked the vegetables in it. I could try this at home.”
Sam Barrett said, “The Jerk rice with shrimp is the best!”
Next stop, Publix Supermarket located at 9951 Miramar Parkway, beginning at 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM for the second road show on Saturday, October 16.
