BROWARD – Saving energy without spending too much money just got easier. The State of Florida will offer a 20 percent rebate off the retail price of a new qualified Energy Star® appliance from April 16 to April 25.
Rebates are available only for the following Energy Star certified appliances and products: tank-less gas water heaters, clothes washers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, and room air-conditioners. Rebates only apply to the purchase of the appliance and not to delivery or installation costs. This program is available to all Florida residents through a mail-in rebate application and coincides with Florida’s Earth Day activities.
While consumers are encouraged to replace more than one appliance, they only receive rebates on the purchase of one of each type of Energy Star appliance per address. In addition to the rebate, consumers will also receive an additional $75 if they show proof of recycling the old appliance by submitting a retailer receipt indicating the pick-up of the old appliance or a receipt from a public or private landfill showing delivery of the old appliance.
