Fusion of Caribbean talent perform ICC CWC 2007 Official Song

TRINIDAD – ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 will reach musical heights on Thursday evening (November 30) in Trinidad & Tobago with the launch of the tournament’s Official Song.

The two-hour presentation, featuring internationally-acclaimed Caribbean artistes who have combined to produce this signature tune, is slated for Zen nightclub in Port-of-Spain from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Caribbean time.

Other elements of this special evening will be a fashion showcase of CWC merchandise and an appearance by Event Mascot, Mello – just back from the ICC Champions Trophy in India.

More than a hundred persons, including the media, executives from the music and recording industry, CWC stakeholders and Trinidad & Tobago Local Organizing Committee (LOC) officials, have been invited to be among the first to hear the song as it is unveiled to the world.

Described as a “high energy, up tempo, soca-inspired beat with lyrics themed around the spirit of cricket and the passion which Caribbean people have for the sport,” the song has been in the works for the past few months and is now ready for its international roll-out.

“The Official Song has had the input of a number of Caribbean and CWC stakeholders and I think the Event and the region will have a song of which they can be proud. We look forward to launching it on November 30th – and to the world hearing it and embracing it as the spirit of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007,” said ICC CWC 2007 Marketing Manager, Damon Leon.
