NEW YORK – Following six successful media launches and a New York International Film Festival premiere for their Cultural Documentary (Freddie’s First – Where Reggae Meets Soca! featuring Grammy Nominated, Reggae Ambassador, Freddie McGregor), FUNSATION4 prepares for Trinidad Carnival 2K7 with the launch of Freddie’s first soca release (featuring 2005 Soca Monarch Bunji Garlin) and the debut of the all-inclusive PULSE8 Band presenting COCKTAILS – You Shake We Stir!
Set to unveil a new “collective order” in Carnival, PULSE8 ventures into the world of Cocktails creating costumes from popular mixtures like Summer Passion, Rum Sweet Rum, Anti-Freeze, Sex on the Beach and more!
Just completing presentations at the 10th Annual Hip Hop Music Mix Tape Awards (Dec 7 – Apollo Theatre – Harlem, NY), JRG Fashion Café Annual Caribbean Fashion show (Dec 9 – Marriott Hotel – NY) and La Carnival Saturdays at Rum Jungle Night Club (December 9, 16,23,30 – www.rumjunglenyc.com – NY), PULSE8 presents fresh perspectives in design and creativity while focusing on their commitment to the needs of masqueraders and providing an improved and unforgettable carnival experience.
Comprised of a prominent core group, PULSE8 includes Cat & Friends, Cheek 2 Cheek, D’ Coco Crew, FUNSATION4, Joanne Fox, designer Sonia Marcano, DJ Wendell, Dalven Harris and Ulric Miller (Section partners include BAMABAC and Nelly’s Posse).

Other FUNSATION4 projects include Bridging the Gap HIV Youth Initiative – A collaborative effort developed by FUNSATION4 and the Archdeaconries of Brooklyn & Queens HIV/AIDS Ministry to “bridge the gap” between international companies based in the Caribbean and local children’s HIV organizations, such as the Cyril Ross AIDS Nursery (Trinidad) and Dare to Care (Jamaica), by funding, supporting and strengthening HIV programs and outreach in an effort to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic throughout the Caribbean.
