Food for the Poor Walk/Run for Hunger headlined by Yohan Blake

COCONUT CREEK – Jamaican Olympic gold and silver medalist Yohan Blake (center) was the headliner at the annual Food for the Poor 5K Walk/Run for Hunger, last Saturday (Nov. 17).

The event was held at the Quiet Waters Park in Fort Lauderdale and attracted some 800 patrons. Proceeds from this year’s 5K Walk/Run will raise money to purchase food to feed destitute families in the Caribbean and Latin America.

Recently, YB Afraid Foundation, Mr. Blake’s Foundation, and Food For The Poor partnered to bring critically needed supplies to approximately 700 people in urgent need of assistance in Jamaica following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
