Florida Small Business Owners Show Support for President Obama’s Middle-Out Economic Vision

TAMPA – Since taking office, President Barack Obama has signed 18 different tax cuts into law and he continues to call on Congress to prevent a 98 percent tax hike on Americans and a 97 percent increase for small businesses.

Last week in Orlando, President Obama discussed his plan to build an America with effective middle-out policies built to last for the long run. His vision, though, is far different than Mitt Romney, who believes that the wealthiest should receive further tax breaks while expiring tax cuts for the middle class.

Florida’s families and small businesses owners like Heather Wheeler, a hard-working middle class American in Tampa Bay, agree.

“I am part of middle class America. I work hard to succeed and make ends meet. Under the President’s policies, I have a little extra money in my pocket at the end of the month, and the prospect of Mitt Romney’s top-down economics is frightening. Mitt Romney’s tax plan will cripple middle class America across the board. His plan would put tax cuts for the wealthiest first, even though they are the same proposals that crashed our economy.

“With taxes spiking $2,000 under a Mitt Romney presidency, my gained sense of security under the President would be lost, and the policies that help me pay the water bill on time, or purchase quality health insurance. We could lose so much while the rich would only gain. I support President Obama because he has our backs. He knows our hard work should be rewarded and that my family should have the same shot at success as everyone else. The President understands that to some, $2,000 many not seem like much, but to the middle class, it’s a big deal. It pays the bills and puts food on the table.” – Heather Wheeler, hard-working middle class American, Tampa Bay
