Florida Democratic Party Chair Questions McCain’s Judgment On Running Mate Selection

TALLAHASSEE – Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman released the following statement Friday, August 29th on John McCain picking Alaskan Sarah Palin as his running mate.

“The first presidential decision any candidate for our nation’s highest office makes is selecting his or her vice presidential running mate. John McCain’s decision today to pick Alaskan Sarah Palin failed to live up to that standard.

McCain’s pick of someone who is clearly not ready to be a heartbeat away from being commander-in-chief once again calls into question if John McCain has the judgment and temperament to lead our nation.

“While I disagree with his judgment on this and other issues, I would like to sincerely wish John McCain a happy 72nd birthday.”
