First Jamaican Ambassador of Commerce for International Business Council of Florida selected

KEY BISCAYNE – On Sunday March 9th, 2008 at the Rusty Pelican restaurant in Key Biscayne, history was made as the International Business Council of Florida inducted 18 new Ambassadors of Commerce (IBCF) including a Jamaican-American from South Florida.

The IBCF’s focus is to represent and promote the state of Florida as a world-class center for global commerce and encourage firms to conduct business and make Florida their home.

Key note speaker and former US Ambassador to Jamaica Sue M. Cobb gave special recognition to the IBCF’s first Ambassador of Commerce for Jamaica, Mr. Omahar Stephenson.

Mr. Stephenson resides in Sunrise, Florida and is the Publisher of the award

Also present to witness the historic event was Consul General of Jamaica Ricardo Allicock and Jamaica/USA Chamber president Marie Gill who expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Ambassador Stephenson.
