Finn Partners Makes Its Debut at Jamaica’s Reggae Marathon in Negril

Jamaica Tourist Board Public Relations Agency of Record, Finn Partners Sends Strong Team

NEW YORKA three member team from Finn Partners, public relations agency of record for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is set to make its debut in the 16th staging of the Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K to be held on December 3, 2016 in Negril.

Justin Vallejo, Prin Bacalan and Barney Bishop of the agency’s Travel/Lifestyle Division are making their first visit to the resort town of Negril to participate in year-end calendar event which has grown since its inception.

“We are expecting a minimum of 2,500 participants from more than the 35 countries which participated last year,” notes Alfred ‘Frano’ Francis, Race Director of the Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K event.

The race begins on the IAAF-certified course at the Long Bay Beach Park, located along Negril’s famed seven-mile beach, then loop into the town of Negril, before heading north towards the town of Green Island.

The event will start at 5:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 3 and the course will remain opened for six hours.

New for 2016 will be the fact that marathoners must reach the half-way mark in three hours to stay in the event.

Vice President Justin Vallejo fresh from his run in the recent TCS New York City Marathon in November leads the Finn Partners contingent which comprises Prin Bacalan and Barney Bishop, who will both compete in the 10K.  Vallejo will run the marathon.

Associate Vice President Prin Bacalan recently completed her nine qualifying races to guarantee entry in the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon which she’s excited to be a part of next year.

Prin runs with Team for Kids, an organization that empowers kids across the United States by providing access to health and fitness programs, building confidence and shaping positive futures.

This past year, Prin completed the 2016 NYC Half Marathon and through New York Road Runners, she has raised money for charities such as God’s Love We Deliver, UAE Healthy Kidney and Achilles Hope & Possibility among others and is delighted to be making her Jamaican running debut.

Senior Account Executive Barney Bishop, who is hosting a small delegation of journalists from North America has competed previously in the Rock & Roll Arizona Marathon in 2009.

Following the race, there will be a Victory Beach Party & Awards Ceremony, dubbed ‘Finish Line Beach Bash’ at Long Bay Beach Party from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. This will feature Digicel
Rising Stars and headline acts: sister and brother reggae performers Kelissa and
Keznamdi.
