Eight Jamaicans in South Florida awarded for ”Milestone” In Business

FT. LAUDERDALE – Eight Jamaicans in South Florida were awarded “Milestone Awards” for their outstanding services in business at the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce’s 3rd Annual Recognition and Installation Luncheon on Friday, May 30th.

The awardees are:

– Dr. Lisa Owens – Chiropractor (healthcare)

– Maureen Shaw of Junie’s Restaurant (hospitality)

– Trevor McBayne of McBayne’s Construction (construction)

– Hugh Ferguson – Caribbean National Weekly (media)

– Zemroy Lewis of Code Red Band (entertainment, arts & culture)

– Grace Vernon of Flowers By Grace (professional services)

– Tony Maxey of Fedex Express (advancement of trade in the Caribbean)

– Real Estate attorney Tameika Pottinger (legal)

Two other awards were also presented:

– Tyrone Robinson (special acknowledgment by president)

– Posthumously to George Barber – founding member of the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce.
