DIVERSITY: THE GAME; How does it impact your business and employment?

Miami – The hot topic of diversity in American business will be discussed by a multi-ethnic panel of experts at The Miami-Dade Chamber Commerce’s Diversity: THE GAME, part of the Business Empowerment Networking Series held quarterly and Funded in part by Metro Miami Action Plan. Diversity: The Game will be held at Jungle Island in Miami on Friday, July 20th, 2007 from 8am to 1pm.

Recent statistics show that all aspects of American culture are becoming increasingly
diversified, as minority populations increase in numbers and influence. An inclusive workforce and diverse vendor base can offer a variety of views, perspectives, backgrounds and multi-cultural experience that is, in the new millennium, integral to any businesses success.

Diversity: The Game will include two sessions.

The first, Diversity in the Workplace, will examine why a cultural mixture in the workforce provides not only a fair and honest representation of our society but also unlimited ideas and innovative solutions that are
mperative to bottom line growth.

The second session, Supplier Diversity, will touch on the opportunities that many minority companies seek from larger corporations to grow their businesses by becoming part of a utilized and preferred vendor pool.

David Palmer

Keynote speaker David Palmer has spent a career implementing diversity programs. As the first African-American President of MCI’s multi billion dollar Carrier Division, Palmer is uniquely qualified to lead the discussion on Diversity. Palmer comments “The subject of Diversity: The Game is very timely. Our economy is continually evolving and we need to be aware of the emerging implications. As our demographics continue to change it is important to understand how to maximize our potential.”

Bill Diggs

Bill Diggs, President of The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce weighs in on the subject “Diversity is one of the cornerstones of success in corporate America. As corporations and their consumers continue to change, it is critical for businesses to recognize and create programs that encompass the ever changing face of America.”

Diversity: The Game is open to the public and is $40 for chamber members and $50 for non-members. Registration is encouraged. For more information on membership or events at The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce please visit www.m-dcc.org or contact the offices at (305) 751-8648.
